Sony Ericsson Xperia Play Review

Gone are the times when large display screens and extraordinary features were rare specimens for a mobile handset. Sony Ericsson is one of those few brand names in the mobile industry which have made the public used to surprises. Sony Ericsson Xperia Play is another member in the Xperia family that comes with a list of interesting features.
This handset flaunts a 4inch LCD display screen of FWVGA (854×480 pixels) resolution and a pretty smooth capacitive sensitivity. The exterior of the phone resembles handsets like Sony Ericsson Vivaz but under the hood features have been improved. The 1GHz CPU with a 512 MB of RAM seems like a blessing for a Sony mobile handset. The 5MP camera at the back is fully capable of recording HD 720 P videos which is feature that makes Xperia play reach up to the league of phones like Apple’s iPhone. The point which makes this handset superior to high end phones like HTC Desire and Dell XCD 35 is that it runs on Android 2.3 rather than the usual 2.2 version. The 1500 mAh battery is like the point which seals the deal when it comes to the selling point of this mobile phone.

The reason why this handset is called Play is because it has a slider which reveals the gaming console (Like sony PSP GO) of this handset making it one of the most desirable gaming phones ever. The only point of worry could be the music player as it doesn’t produce the quality of sound expected from this great piece. Other than that, this is one handset that proves to be a complete device.
